Sound familiar?

You're not a bad parent. You're a busy one, and homework reminders shouldn't be a second job.

📬

"The homework email is buried"

It came in Monday with eleven other emails. By Wednesday night, nobody remembers it exists, until it's overdue.

🗓️

"I forgot to write it down"

Sticky notes, group chats, mental notes, none of it survives a busy week. Things fall through the cracks.

😵‍💫

"Every teacher formats it differently"

One teacher emails a PDF, another writes a paragraph, another links to a class site. Tracking it all by hand doesn't scale.

How automatic homework reminders work

1

Connect Your Email

Sign in with Google. Tell us your kids' teacher email addresses. That's it.

2

We Read Teacher Emails

Our AI scans teacher emails daily, including linked pages and attached PDFs, and pulls out homework, due dates, and instructions.

3

Reminder + Digest

Each assignment becomes a Google Calendar event with a popup reminder, plus a daily digest of what we caught, in one place.

Built for homework tracking

Set it up once. Assignments from teacher emails land on your calendar from then on.

📅

Calendar Reminders for Homework and Events

Homework, worksheets, reading logs, and projects all get added to your Google Calendar with a popup reminder before they're due.

📎

Worksheets & PDFs Read Too

Attached PDFs are read automatically and re-checked for assignment details, so nothing hides in an attachment.

📱

Daily Digest

One clean evening summary of what's due, so you and your kid can plan the night before, not the morning of.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Multi-Kid Support

Track homework reminders for multiple children across different teachers, grades, and even different schools.

🧹

No Duplicate Reminders

BackpackBuddy checks for existing calendar events before creating new ones, so your calendar stays clean, not cluttered.

🔒

Private & Secure

We don't keep your emails, only the homework and event details we extract.

"I used to miss at least one thing per week from my kids' teachers. BackpackBuddy caught everything, the homework, the field trip form, even pajama day. I don't know how I survived without it."

Homework reminder questions

How does BackpackBuddy know what homework was assigned?

BackpackBuddy reads the teacher emails you tell it to watch, including any linked pages or attached PDFs, and uses Claude AI to pull out assignments, due dates, and instructions automatically.

Will I get a reminder before homework is due?

Yes. Assignments found in teacher emails become Google Calendar events with popup reminders, so they show up on your phone or computer ahead of the due date.

Does this work if my child has multiple teachers?

Yes. You can add multiple teachers per child on the Family and Premium plans, and each one's emails get scanned and turned into reminders separately.

What if the teacher's email doesn't mention a clear due date?

If no specific date is given, the assignment still appears in your daily digest so you don't miss it, BackpackBuddy only adds a calendar event when there's a date or deadline to attach it to.

Is a homework tracking app like this free to try?

Yes. BackpackBuddy is free during our beta, with full features and no credit card required, on every plan.

What if my kid's school doesn't use a specific homework platform?

That's fine, BackpackBuddy works with plain email, whatever your teacher already sends. No school adoption or special app needed. Want the bigger picture on getting all those teacher emails under control? See managing school email overload.

Stop missing homework.

Set up in 3 minutes, connect your Google account and tell us your kids' teacher emails. Each assignment we find becomes a reminder, automatically. Once it's running, every event also syncs to your Google Calendar on your phone.
